It’s a rainy day on the coast and I’m using that as an excuse to set up for September! September always feels like a new beginning even though it’s smack dab in the middle of the year. The season begins to change and school is back in session. Even though it’s still hot and humid here (with no end in sight) and I’m not participating in back to school activities, I still wanted to make this month about new beginnings!
Previously, I used two pages for a more detailed monthly spread, but the past couple months I’ve discovered that I really don’t use all that space or the morning/afternoon/evening feature. I simplified the monthly spread and used the second page as a space to plan my posts for the month and write in a few goals. I really tried to slow down and take my time with some pretty cursive this time. For the headers I used my FAVORITE bullet journal writing utensils, the Tombow Fudenosuke Hard & Soft Tip Brush Pens. Since I’ve adopted these writing tools, I’m proud to say my hand lettering has improved immensely. For the smaller writing (especially the cursive) I used my set of Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens.
I kept my task dump for any and every to do that pops into my head with no place else to go, but I beefed up my tracker for the month. It should prove a challenge!! I almost always fall off the wagon using my tracker around the last week of the month.
I really loved the “Currently” page I experiemented with last month, so I included it again. I have a feeling in years to come that I’ll enjoy looking back and seeing how my tastes and interests changed over the years.
I also decided to participate in the Plan With Me Challenge this month! If you don’t already follow Boho Berry (Kara) on Instagram, you should! She is a huge inspiration for my bullet journal and also one of the hosts of the Plan With Me Challenge!
And the September experiments just keep on rolling! I copied this HUGE list (200 suggestions!!) of things to throw away from the lovely Embracinghomemaking.net. Since we are moving into a new house near the end of September (fingers crossed), I decided to challenge myself by going through this list in the days leading up to our big move. I can’t wait to get started!! Living with less is one of my favorite ways to challenge myself.
Finally, I added a financial tracker for the month. I’ve used apps before for tracking money, but I wanted to try some pen to paper tracking just for the fun of it.
What’s in your bullet journal for the month of September? Leave your links in the comments! I love to see everyone’s ideas!
